Terms of service

Light Years is a personal tracking tool for people using GLP-1 medications. By using it you agree to these terms. (Light Years was briefly offered under the name "Steady.")

Light Years is not medical advice. It records and organizes the plan you and your prescriber set. It never recommends a dose, a medication, or any medical action. Trends, projections, and summaries are informational calculations from your own entries. Always follow your prescriber's guidance, and contact them or emergency services for medical concerns.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you log and for keeping access to your device and email secure. You must be at least 18 to use Light Years.

Light Years Pro is a subscription billed through Stripe ($8.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly after a 7-day free trial). You can cancel anytime from the account page; access continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds for the current period are at our discretion — email yashanich@gmail.com.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before a claim. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app.

Privacy policy

Minimum collection. Light Years stores your entries — weights, doses, appetite check-ins, medication plan — on your device first. If you create an account, the same entries sync to our database (hosted by Supabase, encrypted at rest and in transit) so you can use Light Years across devices. We collect your email address for sign-in and nothing else about your identity.

We never sell your data. No advertising, no data brokers, no third-party marketing. Ever.

Processors we use: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting, plus cookieless aggregate page counts — no cookies, no personal identifiers, no health data, never individual profiles), and Stripe (payments — card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers). Each processes data only to provide their service.

Your controls. You can export your data as CSV from the report page, sign out to stop syncing, or request deletion of your cloud data by emailing yashanich@gmail.com — we delete within 30 days. Data on your device is yours and can be cleared in your browser or app settings.

Consumer health data notice

This notice covers health data under laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act and the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule.

What we collect: the health-adjacent information you choose to enter — body weight, medication name and dose schedule, dose logs and injection sites, appetite ("food noise") check-ins, and optionally height.

Why: solely to show you your own trends and summaries and to sync them between your devices. We do not use health data for advertising, do not share it with third parties beyond the processors above, and do not sell it.

Consent and withdrawal: syncing happens only after you create an account. You may withdraw consent at any time by signing out and requesting deletion. In the event of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as required by law.
