Each GLP-1 medicine's label says what to do if a dose is missed, and the rules differ by product. Here is what each current label says, linked to the label itself. Your pharmacist can confirm what applies to your prescription.

What each US label says

More than one missed dose

The current Wegovy label says that if two or more weekly doses in a row are missed, dose escalation should be restarted at a lower dose, to reduce stomach side effects[5]. Ask your prescriber before restarting after a gap — don't guess at a dose.

Changing your dose day

The Ozempic label allows changing the weekly day as long as there are at least 2 days (more than 48 hours) between doses[1]. For Zepbound and Mounjaro, doses must be at least 3 days (72 hours) apart[2][3].

In Canada

The Canadian Ozempic monograph has the same 5-day rule[6], and the Canadian Zepbound KwikPen monograph the same 4-day (96-hour) rule[7]. For other products, check your Canadian product monograph or ask your pharmacist.
