Manufacturer savings cards can bring a covered GLP-1 prescription down to a small copay — but they come with conditions that are easy to miss. Here is what Novo Nordisk's and Lilly's published terms say.
Who they're for
Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and Ozempic offers list as little as $25 a month, with savings capped at $100 a month (as reported by Novo Nordisk (NovoCare), April 2026; checked November 2, 2026 — may have changed)[2] for commercially insured people, and exclude government beneficiaries[2]. Lilly's Zepbound card excludes anyone enrolled in Medicaid, Medicare (including Part D and Medicare Advantage), and other government programs[1]. Lilly's Mounjaro card also requires a prescription for an FDA-approved use[4].
Caps and expiry
Savings are capped. For example, Lilly lists the Zepbound card at as little as $25, savings capped at $100 a month and $1,300 a year (as reported by Eli Lilly and Company, September 2026; checked November 2, 2026 — may have changed)[1], and the Mounjaro card at as little as $25, savings capped at $150 a month and $1,950 a year (as reported by Eli Lilly and Company, 2026; checked November 2, 2026 — may have changed)[4]. Both Lilly cards say they expire on December 31, 2026[1][4].
"Covered" versus "not covered" cards
Some cards also help when your insurance doesn't cover the drug — but the price is much higher, such as as low as $499 a month (as reported by Eli Lilly and Company, September 2026; checked November 2, 2026 — may have changed)[1] for the Zepbound single-dose pen[1].
Deductibles
NovoCare says purchases made through its self-pay options will not count toward your insurance out-of-pocket limits or deductible[3]. Ask your plan how any card or self-pay purchase is counted.
